Q: Why is this site called damospace?faq page
Q: Who is Damo Suzuki?
A: Damo Suzuki has been second singer of the german indy rock band Can.
He's still making music and his new group is called Damo
Suzuki Band. Further information about this group can be found on the Can website, in the section
Members, Other Members, Damo Suzuki.
Q: What are the IRC networks you've been on?
A: The first IRC network I used was Undernet. I found a nice channel there with always at least
4 or 5 persons online. Then someone told me about SorceryNet. SorceryNet had much less lag and
good services, so I changed to SorceryNet in the end. I even was part of the SorceryNet staff a
certain time.
Q: What was your task then?
A: I was in the Public Relations Team. We wrote some html-pages with the most important
information about SorceryNet in english, french and german and we answered the e-mails the
users sent us.
Q: What was the reaction about those pages?
A: Many liked them, but some were fiercely against them. I was very surprised about this
reaction, and in the end I decided to resign.
Q: What are your current IRC networks?
A: I'm not doing much IRC anymore. Don't expect to find me anywhere.
Q: How did you get the idea of putting "Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome" on
your main page?
A: Do you know the movie Cabaret? One of the songs (sung by the Master of Ceremonies with a
strange accent) contains this line. Besides that I found it funny
not to start with the english link...
Q: Are the german, french and english pages just translations of the same text?
A: No.
Q: Why not?
A: I consider that it wouldn't make much sense to make a german page with english links and vice versa.
Therefore most of my music links are on the english page, and my comment to the german spelling reform
can only be found on my german page.
